The Best Circular Saw Under $100

Last Updated: May 23, 2016 By: Steve

We review the best circular saws for under 100 dollarsWhen it comes to power tools in general, and for those of us pursuing some of the most common projects out there, at least some type of saw in our toolbox is needed. Even if you aren’t necessarily planning to saw a piece of material at the moment, thinking of future needs is also important. A circular saw in this particular case is a power saw that uses a toothed or an abrasive disc or blade to cut different materials. To perform its job, it works in a rotary motion while spinning around an arbour. It can easily cut different materials, including metal, wood, plastic and masonry. They’re usually included in power tool combo kits and can always come in handy for most of us needing to saw in an efficient manner when something like a table saw is too expensive.

How to choose your circular saw under $100

  • How much to spend? If you came here from our best circular saw article, you’re attempting to constrain your search to a budget-friendly model. As we saw in that article, the price can span quite broadly. But how much exactly do you have to spend? Just at $100, or perhaps under $40? There’s a decent difference in the two.
  • Corded or cordless? The more expensive circular saws without cords tend to cost a bit more. However, we’ve added a few in here to give you the option if that’s what you had in mind. Don’t forget about the common debate in the power tool world — hassle with a battery and charging it through out it’s life while getting some convenience or use a cord and never risk it dying on you? Our best cordless circular saw article has a few under $100 as well, otherwise we list both types down below.
  • Overall power – The most common amount of Amp in the circular saw under $100 is around 15 Amp. Some go a bit lower (most likely for a lower price) while others in the higher range tend to cost a bit more. We recommend sticking to the recommended 15.
  • Blade size – This all depends on your intended uses. While the size doesn’t necessarily mean bigger is better, you may be asking for tougher projects that call for a bigger blade. Most circular saws under $100 range from 5-10″.
  • Additional features? Laser guide, different bevel degrees, power indicator, safety lock, etc. A lot of these popular models come with some extra, very convenient features. Be sure to compare and contrast this last if you’re still debating on a few of them.
