The Top 10 Best Pressure Washers for the Money

Last Updated: June 13, 2016 By: Steve

We review the ten best pressure washers in the market

Pressure washers are an extremely handy device. When it comes to list out the applications, there aren’t many that we can refine to just a few sentences, so if you’re here, you’re browsing for a solid pressure for a reason. Today we took the time to find the 10 best pressure washers for the money that are worth looking at during your shopping adventures. Let’s take a look at what we found, and how you can choose the best pressure washer for you.

What is a pressure washer?

To review a little bit, a pressure washer (also sometimes known as a power washer) is a high pressure mechanical sprayer that is designed to remove dust, dirt, mud, mold, grime and loose paints from objects and different surfaces, including vehicles, buildings, and even concrete surfaces. The use of pressure washers can be endless, ranging from cleaning doors and washing off your car to removing loose material off of desired objects.

Your pressure washer can be electric, diesel, petrol or gas operated. Most of the power washers are connected with an existing water supply just like a garden hose. On the other hand, some models store water in the attached tank. Which type of model you’ll need really depends on your uses, which we’ve added to our checklist below in finding the best.

How to choose the best pressure washer

  • Your cash – It all depends on the amount of money you have saved up in your budget to buy your pressure washer. We’ve some great budget-friendly models come in and around $100, while some go for way more if you want a higher-end model.
  • Gas-powered or electric? As always with many popular power tools out there, the type of power source you’ll need really depends on your preference. Both directions entail some pros and cons — gas can help give you a bit more power, doesn’t require charging and more. However, it won’t last too long in terms of hours of usage. Electric pressure washers on the other hand gets rid of having to deal with gas and storing it, helps with longevity but also entails maintenance charging a battery (if cordless) or having to deal with a cord (most pressure washers have a cord if you’re going the electric route).
  • PSI – The amount of PSI (pounds per square inch) determines how much pressure will actually be portrayed from your hose. The average is no less than 1,800 PSI when it comes to pressure washers, so we recommend going with that. The higher you go, the more power (or pressure) you’ll have at your fingertips. How much pressure you need really depends on what types of jobs you foresee yourself coming in contact with, but keeping it at our recommended PSI will cover most applications.
  • Need extra features? We found a few top-rated models with better quality wheels, extension cords for the hose, nozzle choices, auto shut-off system, non-flat tires and more. Which highlighted features stick out to you as essential? We list the notable features for each model to give you some insight.
